How do I use Optimum Control on a day-to-day basis?

Learn how to use Optimum Control in your operation on a day-to-day basis.

  1. Count Inventory – To begin using Optimum Control, you will need an opening inventory and once a week, bi-weekly, or monthly, you will need to count a closing inventory.
NOTE: It is recommended that there should be no more than a two-week span for key inventory items at the very least.
  2. Enter Invoices – Invoices can be entered manually, or if available through your suppliers, through an EDI import. This process will update your pricing, stock levels, and update all recipe costs.
  3. Sales Mix – This is the entry of the number of recipe items you sold, and the total revenue. It is either processed directly from your POS, imported through a text file from your POS, or by manually entering till tapes.
  4. Enter Waste – This is optional, but highly beneficial to track.
  5. Run Reports – It's recommended that the "Sales Mix - By Product" and "Usage Summary - Count Amounts" reports be run to see the variances.
